500ml MCT Fractionated Coconut Oil (500 ml)

Purely Essential MCT Fractionated Coconut Oil is clear to pale-yellow with virtually no scent. It’s sourced from Australia and has many benefits to health and wellbeing. 

Fractionated coconut oil is made from fatty acids found in coconut oil. The main advantage of fractionated coconut oil over crude coconut oil is its longer shelf life. Unlike unrefined coconut oil, fractionated coconut oil will not get rancid and can withstand extremely high temperatures.

When Coconut Oil is fractionated, the quantities of capric and caprylic acids grow significantly as other components are eliminated, resulting in powerful antioxidant and bactericidal properties. This makes it popular for use in in aromatherapy and cosmetic treatments.

Fractionated Coconut Oil contains long-chain triglycerides (LCTs) and medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs). The LCTs in the coconut oil have a higher boiling point, so as the oil cools down, the LCTs solidify, leaving the MCTs in a liquid state.

Because of its long shelf life, MCT Fractionated Coconut Oil does not require special storage or handling measures other than storing it in a cold, dry area.

Both fractionated and regular coconut oil are used in skincare, but fractionated coconut oil penetrates better into the skin and does not leave a greasy film. It has an emollient effect that can soften and hydrate dry skin. Antioxidant and antibacterial properties in coconut oil can further help promote skin health.

The nutrients in fractionated coconut oil can help moisturize and nourish hair, reducing frizz and promoting softness and shine. You can rub a small amount onto damp hair as a leave-in conditioner or apply a generous amount on dry hair as a hair mask. Leave in for at least 30 minutes before shampooing and conditioning.

Unlike many commercial makeup removers that may contain harsh or irritating chemicals, fractionated coconut oil is effective at dissolving stubborn or waterproof makeup while being gentle on the skin.

Whilst Virgin coconut oil has a strong coconut scent that can sometimes overwhelm other aromas, Fractionated Coconut Oil does not. It is a light, non greasy oil that does not solidify in lower temperatures like Virgin/Organic Coconut oil which is why it is a popular and beneficial choice to use as a carrier oil or ingredient in any natural product. 

Though very rare, there have been reports of people with coconut and coconut oil allergies. 

Suggestions for Use:

For an excellent treatment option for dry or frizzy hair, comb through wet hair and massage Fractionated Coconut Oil into your scalp. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes, or for best results, leave in overnight. Shampoo and rinse your hair and rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Add a couple of drops of essential oil of choice to a tablespoon of Fractionated Coconut Oil, then apply to dry, tough skin for nourishing hydration.

For an effective makeup remover, add a few drops of Fractionated Coconut Oil onto a makeup remover cloth, tissue, cotton pad, or cotton swab to effortlessly wipe away lipstick, mascara and foundation.

For a relaxing and soothing massage oil, add 5-8 drops of your preferred essential oil(s) to 100ml of Fractionated Coconut Oil.

Use it to make your own homemade DIY personal care products such as cuticle oil, eye/face serum, body wash, foaming hand soap, hair treatment, moisturiser and more!

Add 50-100ml of Fractionated Coconut Oil to your bath to help soften and hydrate your skin. Additionally, you can add 10-20 drops of your favourite essential oil. 

Most people are tolerant of coconut oil. However, some people on MCT-rich ketogenic diets have reported gastrointestinal issues.

Though very rare, there have been reports of people with coconut and coconut oil allergies.
