Frankincense essential oil comes from resin of trees in the Boswellia family and has been used for thousands of years for religious ceremonies, perfumes, cosmetics, and for its many therapeutic and healing benefits. Boswellia serrata is native to India, Africa and the Arabian peninsula. It can be regarded as the best variety for topical use due to its strong anti-inflammatory properties and its many benefits to health and wellbeing.
Studies have shown that Boswellia serrata is an effective natural anti-inflammatory and painkiller, and can even prevent the loss of cartilage. It has been used to treat arthritic conditions such as osteoarthritis and rhuematoid arthritis, and for boosting the body’s immune response.

Suggestions for Use:
Add 1-3 drops to diffuser or oil burner to boost mood and concentration, relieve stress and anxiety, induce relaxation and sleep, relieve asthma and cold and flu symptoms, reduce congestion and phlegm, and to kill airbourne germs.
Add 3-5 drops to a hot bath to reduce tension, relieve body aches and pains, and to nourish and moisturise skin.
Add 2-4 drops to 50ml of carrier oil of choice for a massage oil that promotes muscular relaxation, relieves sore and aching muscles and joints, reduces inflammation and helps heal damaged tissue at a deeper cellular level.
Add a few drops to your shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hand soap or DIY skin care products to enhance benefits and aroma.
For a natural air freshener, combine 5-6 drops of Frankincense essential oil with 3 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of baking soda in a spray bottle and shake well.
Mix 10 drops of Frankincense essential oil with 2 cups of hot water, 1 cup of white vinegar and ¼ cup of baking soda in a spray bottle and shake well to produce a homemade multi-purpose cleaning solution.
