Purely Essential Organic Castor Oil is refined, completely natural, free of synthetic chemicals and it derives from cold pressing the seeds of the castor bean (Ricinus communis) plant.
It is rich in skin boosting ingredients and it’s fatty acids are natural humectants, which moisturises the skin by preventing skin loss. Almost 90% of its fatty acid content is a specific and rare compound called ricinoleic acid. In addition, castor oil also contains other beneficial salts and esters that mainly act as skin conditioning agents.
Additionally, it has its own pain relieving and anti-inflammatory effects, and moreover, it is the deepest penetrating oil known, making it an excellent carrier oil for essential oils to be used in topical therapeutic purposes.
Research has shown that its anti-inflammatory properties can help treat arthritic conditions including Rheumatism, alleviate backache and muscle pain, soothe chronic headaches, relieve PMS, treat athlete’s foot and even help those with insomnia. Castor oil is also often used as a natural treatment for pain, joint swelling and inflammation associated with arthitic conditions. It is equally ideal in massage oil applied to aching joints, muscles or soft tissue.
Abdominal castor oil packs have shown in scientific studies to significantly increase the production of lymphocytes which are the immune system’s natural “disease fighters’ that attack toxins, bacteria and other percieved threats to the body. Castor oil’s positive affect on the lymphatic system suggests better overall circulation and support to major organs.

Suggestions for Use:
Apply directly to muscles and joints for pain and inflammation relief.
Apply 1-2 tablespoons of Organic Castor Oil to wool flannel or Castor oil pack and place the pack around your abdomen/liver, which is under your right ribcage, to help support optimised liver function, to improve detoxification and hormonal balance, and to reduce inflammation in the liver. Castor oil is prized for its ricinoleic acid, a compound in castor beans believed to help the body rid itself of excess toxins.
Add 2-5 drops of pure essential oil(s) such as Peppermint, Sandalwood, Kunzea, Cedarwood, Frankincense or Ginger to 50ml Organic Castor Oil for an effective pain relieving and anti-inflammatory massage oil blend.
Apply directly to face, skin or hair for moisturising and nourishing benefits.
It is an excellent used on its own, as carrier oil or as an ingredient to any DIY hair and skin care product.
Castor oil is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.
