It boasts antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, astringent, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiemetic, insecticidal, sedative, antidepressant and antioxidant properties.
Patchouli essential oil has long been used for treating skin conditions such as dermatitis, acne, or dry, cracked skin. Because of its quick-healing properties, it minimises the appearance of scars and blemishes from acne, wounds, measles, pox or boils.
With its antifungal properties, it is useful in treating athlete’s foot or other fungal conditions. Several studies have demonstrated that also has anti-inflammatory properties.

Suggestions for Use:
Add 3-7 drops of Patchouli essential oil to diffuser (depending on size of the water chamber), or sufficient amount to oil warmer/burner to reduce stress and/or repel flies and mosquitos.
To help induce restful sleep, mix 2-3 drops of Patchouli essential oil into 20ml of carrier oil of choice and rub into temples, neck and/or chest.
For a relaxing and invigorating bath, add 20-30 drops to water.
To help ease muscle soreness and inflammation, add 7-10 drops of Patchouli essential oil to 50ml carrier oil of choice.
Add a few drops to your shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, body/hand lotion and/or face cream to enhance skin and hair health. You can also use to make your own DIY personal care product(s).
To help treat minor skin problems, add 2-3 drops to 30ml carrier oil of choice and apply to affected area(s).
For a nourishing and hair strengthening treatment, mix 5-8 drops into 50ml carrier oil of choice. Rub into hair and scalp and leave in for 5 to 10 minutes, then shampoo, condition and style as usual. For a more intensive treatment, leave in overnight before washing out in the morning.
Adding a few drops of Patchouli essential oil to your laundry detergent will help repel moths.
For a natural way to mask body odour, simply mix–2 drops in 20ml of coconut oil and rub under your armpits. Additionally, you can add it to your favorite body lotion.
